Poeci przyszłości! mówcy, śpiewacy, muzycy

Teraźniejszość nie wytłumaczy mnie, nie odpowie,
po co tu jestem,

Lecz ty, nowa raso, rodzima, atletyczna, kontynentalna,
wspanialsza niż wszystkie poprzednie,

Zbudź się! bo ty musisz mnie wytłumaczyć.
Ja sam piszę tylko słowo lub dwa—sygnały przyszłości,
Idę tylko przez chwilę naprzód, po to, aby zawrócić
i spiesznie pogrążyć się w mroku.
