     Did not see W. The day clouded in the forenoon—clear in the afternoon. W. did not get out, the clouds not passing off till it was too late for him to venture—the evenings growing so chill. I had written to Mead asking another month for my Whitman article, and he proves content, to that or even more. Can more satisfactorily work if not under pressure.
