     Did not see W. at all. I was out of town—at Logan: Monday was the first celebration of Labor Day in Pennsylvania.

     In last evening's talk, Harned said to W.: "Brinton wrote a note to Horace in which he took up a difference with you—said he did not share your belief in immortality." W. laughed. "Did he? Then all the worse for him! But Brinton

     Morris had given me the conclusion of his Sarrazin translation.
