     I was out of town all day but W. did as announced—sent Ed up with proof—to which he had added the last paragraph commencing "a long stretch of illness"—and counseling on margin— "let me see another proof" and proposing to take out lines if not condensed enough for one page. On envelope had written— "get the 'Magazine of Art' from Mrs. T. Horace forgot it last night"—which Ed had done.
